Inspiration
The name To Whom Much Is Given Inc. is drawn from the biblical verse Luke 12:48 — “To whom much is given, much is required.” For founder Tracie Johnson, this scripture is not about wealth or abundance, but about willingness. It’s a call to help when you can, to give from whatever blessings you’ve received, and to be a vessel of compassion in someone else’s time of need.
The vision for this nonprofit began years ago, when Tracie worked in a role where helping clients meant navigating layers of financial guidelines and red tape. Frustrated by the barriers, she invited a few friends to join her in creating a small savings fund — each contributing $10 per paycheck — so they could respond directly to needs they saw around them. One friend, Carla Merritt, suggested turning the effort into a nonprofit. Though Tracie wasn’t ready then, she planted the seed.
In 2022, after years of reflection and growth, Tracie felt a clear call from God: it was time. She moved forward in obedience, founding To Whom Much Is Given Inc. as a way to serve working-class individuals and families who often fall through the cracks of traditional assistance programs.
This organization is more than a mission — it’s a ministry of presence, empathy, and action. It exists because one woman chose to say yes to the nudge in her spirit, and because every gift from God is meant to be shared.
